Build, paint and battle with the Bandai Gundam Assemble Paint Pack 01 (PA01), an exciting miniature painting and tabletop gaming expansion featuring three legendary Earth Federation Mobile Suits, four Gundam Assemble acrylic paints, a painting brush and additional cards for the Gundam Assemble tactical battle game.
The Gundam Assemble Paint Pack 01 (PA01) brings together the creativity of Gunpla model building and the excitement of tabletop miniature gaming in one fantastic set.
Featuring three iconic Mobile Suits from the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime — the RX-78-2 Gundam, RX-77-2 Guncannon and RX-75 Guntank — this painting pack gives hobbyists everything needed to begin assembling and painting these classic Earth Federation machines.
Each miniature stands approximately 50mm tall, offering a compact but recognisable representation of its original Mobile Suit.
The set also includes four specially developed Gundam Assemble Color acrylic paints, a painting brush, unit cards, tactical cards and game tokens.
Whether you’re an experienced Gunpla builder, a miniature painting enthusiast or a Gundam fan looking to explore tabletop gaming, the Gundam Assemble Paint Pack 01 offers a rewarding combination of modelling, painting and collecting.
What Is Gundam Assemble?
Gundam Assemble is Bandai’s tactical tabletop miniature game, bringing the legendary Mobile Suits of the Gundam universe into strategic squad-based battles.
Unlike traditional Gunpla kits, which are primarily designed for building and display, Gundam Assemble miniatures are created for both collecting and tabletop gameplay.
Players assemble squads of Mobile Suits, each with individual characteristics, weapons and abilities inspired by their appearances throughout the Gundam franchise.
The game allows players to recreate battles inspired by the anime or create entirely original encounters between machines from different Gundam timelines.
With miniatures measuring approximately 5cm tall, Gundam Assemble combines the enjoyment of model building with the tactical decisions of a tabletop battle game.
The PA01 Paint Pack introduces the additional satisfaction of painting your own units before deploying them into battle.
Three Legendary Earth Federation Mobile Suits
The Gundam Assemble Paint Pack 01 includes three unassembled and unpainted miniature model kits representing some of the most recognisable machines from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series.
Together, the Gundam, Guncannon and Guntank form an iconic trio of Earth Federation Mobile Suits.
Each machine has its own battlefield role, making the set an excellent way to explore the different types of units featured in Gundam Assemble.
RX-78-2 Gundam – Beam Rifle
The legendary RX-78-2 Gundam is one of the most important Mobile Suits in Gundam history.
Piloted by Amuro Ray during the One Year War, the RX-78-2 became the defining symbol of the Earth Federation’s Mobile Suit development programme.
Its revolutionary performance, advanced construction and powerful weapon systems helped establish the Gundam as one of the most recognisable machines in Japanese science fiction.
The miniature included in Paint Pack 01 recreates the RX-78-2 equipped with its iconic Beam Rifle.
Its distinctive head design, chest armour and classic Gundam silhouette make it an excellent subject for miniature painting.
Using the supplied white, blue, red and yellow paints, builders can begin recreating the Gundam’s familiar anime colour scheme.
RX-77-2 Guncannon – 240mm Cannon
The RX-77-2 Guncannon is a heavily armoured Earth Federation Mobile Suit designed primarily for medium-range fire support.
Famous for its distinctive red armour and twin shoulder-mounted cannons, the Guncannon provides supporting firepower for the Federation’s frontline units.
During the One Year War, the Guncannon became closely associated with the White Base crew and the battles fought alongside the RX-78-2 Gundam.
The Gundam Assemble miniature recreates the Guncannon with its characteristic 240mm cannon equipment.
Its broad shoulders, heavy armour and unmistakable silhouette make it a distinctive addition to the set.
The included red paint provides an excellent starting point for reproducing the machine’s classic appearance.
RX-75 Guntank – 120mm Low-Recoil Cannon
The RX-75 Guntank represents a different approach to Earth Federation Mobile Suit development.
Combining a humanoid upper body with a tracked lower section, the Guntank was designed to deliver powerful long-range artillery support.
Its twin shoulder-mounted 120mm Low-Recoil Cannons and distinctive tank-style construction make it one of the most unusual machines from the original Gundam series.
The Gundam Assemble miniature captures the Guntank’s recognisable design in a compact tabletop format.
Its tracked lower body and substantial cannon equipment provide interesting opportunities for detail painting and weathering.
The Guntank also adds visual variety to the three-machine Federation collection.
Four Gundam Assemble Color Acrylic Paints Included
One of the biggest attractions of the Gundam Assemble Paint Pack 01 is the inclusion of four Gundam Assemble Color acrylic paints.
These colours have been selected to provide a useful starting palette for painting the included Earth Federation miniatures.
The set includes:
- Gundam Assemble Color White
- Gundam Assemble Color Blue
- Gundam Assemble Color Yellow
- Gundam Assemble Color Red
These colours are particularly suitable for the iconic appearance of the RX-78-2 Gundam and selected details on the accompanying Guncannon and Guntank.
Builders can also combine them with additional hobby paints to create more detailed finishes, including metallic mechanical sections, darker armour details and realistic battlefield weathering.
The four included colours provide a convenient introduction to the Gundam Assemble painting range.
Painting Brush Included
The PA01 Paint Pack includes a painting brush, allowing builders to begin working on their miniatures without purchasing a separate brush.
The brush is suitable for applying the included paints to the small-scale Mobile Suit models.
Because Gundam Assemble miniatures are approximately 50mm tall, careful brush painting can make a substantial difference to the finished appearance.
Builders can gradually develop their painting skills by working on larger armour sections before progressing to smaller mechanical details.
For hobbyists who have previously built conventional colour-moulded Gunpla but have never painted a miniature, this set provides an accessible introduction to the process.
Assemble, Paint & Personalise Your Mobile Suits
Unlike conventional High Grade Gunpla kits, which are often moulded in multiple colours to reproduce the finished Mobile Suit, Gundam Assemble miniatures are supplied unpainted.
This allows builders to choose how their completed models will look.
You can recreate the original anime colour schemes or experiment with entirely new designs.
The RX-78-2 Gundam could be painted in its familiar Federation colours or customised with a military-inspired alternative.
The Guncannon could receive additional armour highlights and weathering, while the Guntank provides opportunities for realistic tracked-vehicle finishes.
The compact size of the miniatures makes them ideal for experimenting with painting techniques without committing to a much larger model.
Learn Miniature Painting Techniques
The Gundam Assemble Paint Pack 01 is particularly appealing to hobbyists who want to develop their painting skills.
The included miniatures provide opportunities to practise a variety of techniques, including:
- Base coating armour panels
- Painting individual mechanical details
- Applying additional colours to weapons and equipment
- Highlighting raised armour sections
- Creating contrast between different materials
- Adding panel lining and shading
- Applying subtle battle damage
- Experimenting with custom colour schemes
More advanced techniques, such as washes, dry brushing and edge highlighting, can be explored using additional hobby paints and equipment.
Because each miniature features different shapes and armour designs, the three included Mobile Suits provide varied painting projects.
Unit Cards & Tactical Cards
The Gundam Assemble Paint Pack 01 is more than a miniature painting set.
It also includes gameplay components that allow the three Mobile Suits to be incorporated into Gundam Assemble battles.
Each included miniature is accompanied by a corresponding Unit Card.
These cards represent the characteristics and abilities of the individual Mobile Suits within the tabletop game.
The set also includes nine Tactical Cards, providing additional options for players developing their strategies.
Together, these components allow players to expand their existing Gundam Assemble collections with new units and tactical possibilities.
Game Tokens Included
The PA01 Paint Pack includes a set of game tokens.
These components are used alongside the other Gundam Assemble gameplay materials.
They provide additional equipment for players incorporating the included units into their existing tabletop battles.
Combined with the Unit Cards and Tactical Cards, the tokens help make Paint Pack 01 a useful expansion for established players.
Create Your Own Earth Federation Squad
The inclusion of the Gundam, Guncannon and Guntank makes this pack particularly attractive to fans of the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
These three machines represent the different combat roles that helped define the Earth Federation’s early Mobile Suit forces.
The Gundam provides an iconic general-purpose combat machine.
The Guncannon offers a heavily armoured fire-support design.
The Guntank brings a distinctive artillery-focused appearance.
Together, they form a recognisable Federation collection that looks excellent both on the tabletop and on display.
For collectors interested in recreating classic One Year War encounters, the Paint Pack 01 is an excellent addition to the Gundam Assemble range.
Perfect for Gundam & Tabletop Miniature Enthusiasts
The Gundam Assemble Paint Pack 01 brings together two popular aspects of the modelling hobby.
For Gunpla builders, it provides an opportunity to explore miniature painting and tabletop gaming.
For tabletop gamers, it introduces the distinctive mechanical designs and characters of the Gundam universe.
The approximately 50mm miniatures are compact enough for tabletop use while retaining the essential visual characteristics of their original Mobile Suits.
They can also be displayed as a small Federation collection once assembled and painted.
The combination of miniatures, paints, brush and gameplay components makes the PA01 pack particularly versatile.
