The mighty PMX-003 The-O from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam is one of the most imposing and iconic Master Grade kits ever released by Bandai. Piloted by the enigmatic Paptimus Scirocco, The-O is famous for its immense size, overwhelming firepower, and hidden sub-arms that made it a terrifying opponent during the final stages of the Gryps Conflict.
Released as part of the 15th Anniversary of the Master Grade line, the MG 1/100 The-O remains one of the largest standard MG kits ever produced. Standing approximately 25cm tall and weighing around 600 grams when completed, it dominates any Gunpla display with its bulky armour, massive proportions, and unmistakable yellow colour scheme.
Bandai engineered an impressive internal frame and support structure to handle the kit’s substantial weight while maintaining excellent stability and articulation. Despite its size, The-O is capable of a surprising range of poses, helped by movable skirt armour sections and strong joints throughout the body.
One of the standout features is the recreation of The-O’s hidden sub-arms. Concealed within the front skirt armour, these articulated arms can be deployed to recreate the mobile suit’s signature surprise attacks from the anime. The sub-arms even feature articulated fingers, allowing them to wield the included beam swords.
The kit includes a beam rifle, four beam sword hilts, beam saber effect parts, decals, marking stickers, and two 1/100 scale Paptimus Scirocco figures. The mono-eye can also be adjusted for added display realism.
More than fifteen years after its release, MG The-O is still regarded by many builders as a legendary Master Grade kit.
