The standard 00 Raiser combines GN-0000 00 Gundam with the GNR-010 0 Raiser, stabilising and enhancing the capabilities of the Twin Drive System.
The XN Raiser takes things significantly further by adding a specialised support unit equipped with additional mechanical arms and a pair of enormous GN Buster Sword III weapons.
The result is unmistakably 00 Gundam.
Just with considerably more attached to it.
From Mobile Suit Gundam 00V
The XN Raiser originates from the expanded Mobile Suit Gundam 00V universe rather than being one of the standard configurations seen throughout the television series.
That makes this MG particularly interesting for collectors who already own the more familiar 00 Gundam and 00 Raiser designs.
It takes a machine everyone knows and pushes the concept into much more heavily equipped territory.
And considering the standard 00 Raiser was hardly underpowered to begin with, that’s saying something.
Setsuna F. Seiei’s 00 Gundam
At the centre of the configuration is the GN-0000 00 Gundam, developed by Celestial Being and associated with Setsuna F. Seiei.
The machine uses the revolutionary Twin Drive System, positioning two GN Drives around the shoulders.
Those distinctive drive units give 00 Gundam its instantly recognisable silhouette even before any of the Raiser equipment is installed.
The MG construction gives the 00 Gundam plenty of mechanical detail as a standalone Mobile Suit, meaning the model doesn’t have to remain in its largest configuration permanently.
0 Raiser
The package also incorporates the GNR-010 0 Raiser, the support machine designed to work with 00 Gundam.
The 0 Raiser can be displayed independently or combined with the Gundam to form 00 Raiser.

The XN Raiser
The defining feature of this release is naturally the XN Raiser equipment.
The XN unit dramatically expands the silhouette of the support machine, adding additional mechanical structures and weapon-mounting systems.
Bandai created new parts for the MG release to reproduce the XN Raiser, with the equipment designed to combine with the existing 0 Raiser and 00 Gundam systems.
Once fully equipped, the model becomes considerably wider and more imposing than a standard 00 Gundam.
Subtle it isn’t.
Twin GN Buster Sword III Weapons
The stars of the XN equipment are the enormous GN Buster Sword III weapons.
Two are included.
Because apparently one giant sword wasn’t enough.
The weapons are significantly larger than conventional Beam Sabers and completely change the character of the finished model when deployed.
They can be used as massive close-combat weapons, giving the 00 XN Raiser an aggressive silhouette that immediately distinguishes it from the standard 00 Raiser.
Combine the GN Buster Sword IIIs
The pair of GN Buster Sword III weapons can also be combined together, creating an even larger weapon configuration.
This provides another dramatic display option and emphasises just how over-the-top the XN Raiser concept is supposed to be.
Two giant swords?
Good.
One absolutely enormous combined sword?
Better.

XN Raiser Mechanical Arms
The XN equipment also incorporates articulated sub-arms, adding another layer of mechanical complexity to the design.

GN Sword III
The GN Sword III further expands the weapon selection.
Associated with the later 00 Raiser configuration, the GN Sword III combines a large bladed profile with the advanced GN weapon styling seen throughout the series.
Its inclusion means you’ve got plenty of display possibilities even if the GN Buster Sword III weapons are temporarily taking a well-earned rest.
GN Beam Sabers
For traditional Gundam melee combat, the kit also includes GN Beam Saber equipment.
These give the model a much lighter close-combat configuration and are particularly useful for dynamic poses where the larger weapons might overwhelm the silhouette.
Although if you’re buying the XN Raiser, we’re guessing “overwhelming silhouette” isn’t exactly a deal-breaker.

Detailed Master Grade Construction
At 1/100 scale, the 00 XN Raiser has serious presence.
The Master Grade format allows the Twin Drive units, armour, support craft and enormous XN equipment to be reproduced with significantly more mechanical detail than smaller versions of the design.
The colour-separated construction also means the distinctive white, blue, red, yellow and grey appearance is recreated largely through moulded plastic.
Painting remains optional, although panel lining and careful detailing can make a substantial difference across a model this complex.
LED Compatibility
The 00 Gundam MG design incorporates areas intended to take advantage of lighting effects, allowing the GN Drive sections to be illuminated when used with compatible LED equipment.
This can be particularly effective on the 00 XN Raiser because the large overall silhouette draws attention towards the Twin Drive units at the centre of the model.
Check the lighting equipment included with or required for your specific release before assembly if you intend to add illumination.
A Serious Display Piece
Let’s address the obvious.
The 00 XN Raiser is big.
Once the 0 Raiser, XN equipment and giant weapons are attached, the finished model occupies considerably more space than the standard 00 Gundam.
An Action Base is highly recommended for getting the most from the complete configuration, particularly if you want to display the model airborne with the GN Buster Sword III weapons deployed.
Give it room.
00 XN Raiser wasn’t designed to politely squeeze between two Zakus at the back of the shelf.
Perfect for Additional Detailing
The combination of white armour and extensive mechanical components makes this kit an excellent candidate for additional finishing work.
Panel lining can emphasise the armour separation.
Metallic paints work particularly well across the XN mechanical components and thrusters.
Small colour accents can be added throughout the internal structures.
And additional decals can transform the finished model into an even more detailed interpretation of Celestial Being’s technology.
There’s a lot of plastic here.
