Complete the original Keroro Platoon Robo line-up with the Bandai Spirits Keroro Gunso Plamo Collection #13 Dororo Robo, the ninja-inspired personal machine of Sergeant Major Dororo from Sgt. Frog.
The Plamo Collection Dororo Robo is #13 in Bandai’s Keroro Gunso Plamo Collection and brings Dororo’s distinctive personal mecha to life as a fun, accessible plastic model kit.
Originally released in Japan on 13 January 2007, Dororo Robo includes an approximately 45mm Dororo figure, his dedicated flying saucer and the Robo itself. Better still, the saucer isn’t simply an extra accessory – it can combine directly with the robot body to complete Dororo Robo.
Dororo’s Personal Robo
The Dororo Robo belongs to Dororo, the ninja specialist of the Keroro Platoon.
Its design reflects Dororo’s distinctive character while maintaining the colourful, chunky mechanical style shared by the other original Keroro Robo machines.
Where Giroro’s machine emphasises heavy weaponry and Tamama’s Robo embraces a more rounded appearance, Dororo Robo brings its own ninja-inspired personality to the group.
It’s unmistakably part of the Keroro Platoon.
Just slightly quieter about it.
Keroro Gunso Plamo Collection #13
The Dororo Robo is #13 in the Keroro Gunso Plamo Collection, following the other individual Robo releases and completing the original five-member Keroro Platoon Robo line-up.
That makes this kit particularly appealing for collectors who already have Keroro Robo, Kururu Robo, Giroro Robo and Tamama Robo.
With Dororo finally joining them, the team is complete.
Which means the invasion of Pekopon can finally begin.
Again.
45mm Dororo Figure Included
The kit includes an approximately 45mm Dororo figure.
Bandai designed the small Dororo so that his arms and legs are movable once removed from the runner, giving you a miniature version of the character to display alongside the larger Robo.
This adds considerably more character to the kit and means you’re getting both Dororo and his personal machine in the same box.
Dororo’s Dedicated Flying Saucer
Dororo also comes with his own dedicated saucer.
The included Dororo figure can be placed aboard the saucer, allowing you to recreate the familiar Keronian flying craft independently from the Robo.
But Bandai didn’t stop there.
The saucer is also an integral part of the Dororo Robo itself.
Saucer Combination Gimmick
One of the standout features of the Plamo Collection Dororo Robo is the combination system.
Dororo can board his dedicated saucer and the saucer then combines directly with the robot body, forming part of the completed Dororo Robo.
It’s a simple but entertaining transformation feature that gives the kit more play and display value than you might initially expect.
Display Dororo separately.
Put him aboard the saucer.
Then combine the saucer with the Robo.
Three stages of preparation for another completely successful Keronian invasion.
Probably.
Classic Character Mecha Styling
Dororo Robo has the deliberately exaggerated mechanical appearance that makes the original Keroro Plamo Collection so much fun.
Rather than attempting realistic military styling, the Robo embraces the cartoon proportions of Keroro Gunso / Sgt. Frog.
That makes it a great change of pace for builders who normally concentrate on Gundam, military models or more complicated mecha kits.
The finished model is colourful, distinctive and immediately recognisable to fans of the anime.
Straightforward Snap-Fit Construction
The Bandai Dororo Robo uses accessible snap-fit plastic model construction, with the parts supplied moulded in colour. Painting and glue aren’t required for a standard build, while stickers are supplied for additional detailing.
That makes the Dororo Robo ideal for newer builders or anyone looking for a quicker project between more complicated Gunpla builds.
Experienced modellers can still take things further with additional painting, seam removal and detailing.
You could even give Dororo Robo a heavily weathered ninja-mecha finish.
Whether Dororo would approve of attracting that much attention is another question.
Build the Complete Keroro Robo Team
Dororo Robo is particularly appealing because it rounds out the original group of Keroro Platoon machines.
Display it alongside the other Robo kits and you can bring together the personal machines of the main platoon members.
Their different colours, shapes and character-inspired designs make the complete team a fantastic display.
It’s also a particularly fun collection to place among more serious Gundam models.
Nothing breaks up a shelf full of Universal Century war machines quite like a squad of alien frogs attempting to conquer Earth.
Classic Sgt. Frog Fun
Keroro Gunso, better known internationally as Sgt. Frog, combines science-fiction, comedy, anime parody and a very obvious love of plastic model culture.
The Keroro Gunso Plamo Collection takes that relationship with model building and turns the characters and machines from the series into actual Bandai plastic kits.
Dororo Robo is a perfect example.
Simple to build.
Packed with character.
And just unusual enough to stand out from almost everything else in your model collection.
