Bring one of the most intimidating Mobile Suits from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans to your collection with the Bandai HG 1/144 Graze Ein, the enormous Gjallarhorn machine piloted by Ein Dalton and built specifically for brutal close-quarters combat.

The Graze Ein HG 1/144 recreates the imposing EB-AX2 Graze Ein, a heavily modified machine developed around the Alaya-Vijnana System. Significantly larger than a conventional Graze, its towering proportions, huge weapons and distinctive silhouette make it one of the most memorable enemy Mobile Suits from the first season of Iron-Blooded Orphans.

EB-AX2 Graze Ein

The Graze Ein is a specialised Gjallarhorn Mobile Suit created using technology derived from the Graze series.

But calling it simply another Graze doesn’t really do it justice.

The machine is substantially larger, more aggressive and far more intimidating than the standard EB-06 Graze.

Its elongated limbs, broad shoulders and heavily reinforced construction give it an almost monstrous appearance, perfectly matching its role during the climax of the first season of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.

Ein Dalton’s Ultimate Machine

The Graze Ein is piloted by Ein Dalton, whose obsession with defeating Tekkadan eventually leads him down an increasingly extreme path.

Following catastrophic injuries, Ein becomes physically integrated with the machine through an experimental application of the Alaya-Vijnana System.

The result effectively turns the Graze Ein into an extension of its pilot’s body, allowing it to demonstrate frightening speed and responsiveness despite its enormous size.

That combination of Ein’s story and the machine’s brutal design makes Graze Ein considerably more memorable than a typical end-of-season opponent.

An Enormous HG Mobile Suit

One of the first things you’ll notice about the HG Graze Ein is its size.

Bandai reproduces the machine at approximately 150mm tall, giving it considerably more physical presence than many standard 1/144 Gundam kits.

The long legs and oversized body make it look particularly impressive alongside other Iron-Blooded Orphans HG models.

Place it next to Gundam Barbatos and the difference in proportions immediately becomes apparent.

Graze Ein isn’t trying to look elegant.

It’s trying to look terrifying.

Mission accomplished.

Dedicated Graze Ein Frame

The HG kit recreates the unusual mechanical structure of the Graze Ein with proportions designed around its oversized appearance.

Despite the machine’s height, Bandai engineered articulation into the limbs and body so the finished model can reproduce the aggressive combat poses associated with its appearance in the series.

The exposed mechanical areas also fit perfectly with the industrial aesthetic that runs throughout Iron-Blooded Orphans.

Giant Axes

Graze Ein is built for close combat, and its equipment reflects that.

The kit includes two enormous axes, allowing the machine to be displayed wielding one in each hand.

Their simple, brutal design suits the Graze Ein perfectly.

No elegant beam weapon.

No complicated transformation.

Just an enormous Mobile Suit carrying two enormous axes.

Sometimes the straightforward approach works best.

Shoulder-Mounted Pile Bunkers

Graze Ein also features close-combat equipment built directly into its arms.

Its distinctive pile bunkers can be deployed for powerful close-range attacks, adding another brutal element to the machine’s combat style.

The HG kit reproduces this equipment with dedicated parts and deployment functionality, allowing you to recreate the Graze Ein’s heavy melee appearance.

They’re exactly the kind of weapons you’d expect from Iron-Blooded Orphans, where hitting the other Mobile Suit extremely hard is frequently considered a perfectly reasonable tactical plan.

Drill Kick Equipment

And then there are the feet.

Graze Ein incorporates weapon systems into its legs, including the distinctive drill-equipped feet used for close-range attacks.

Bandai reproduces the foot-mounted equipment so the kit can recreate the machine’s unusual kicking attacks.

Axes.

Pile bunkers.

Weaponised feet.

Graze Ein apparently looked at the concept of close combat and decided there was no reason to leave any limb uninvolved.

Designed for Aggressive Posing

The Graze Ein isn’t a Mobile Suit that should be standing politely at attention.

Its long limbs and melee weapons are made for aggressive poses.

Raise both axes.

Deploy the pile bunkers.

Set the legs into a charging stance.

Or position it opposite Gundam Barbatos for a recreation of their climactic confrontation.

The unusual proportions help make even relatively simple poses look threatening.

Classic Iron-Blooded Orphans Mechanical Styling

Like many designs from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Graze Ein combines armour plating with visible mechanical structure.

The dark colour scheme further separates it from the more conventional green Graze units used by Gjallarhorn.

Panel lining around the armour and carefully picked-out mechanical details can add considerable depth to the finished model.

Metallic colours work particularly well around the exposed frame areas and weapons.

Excellent for Custom Painting

The Graze Ein also makes an excellent customisation project.

Its large armour surfaces provide plenty of space for alternative colour schemes, weathering and additional markings.

You could build it clean in its animation-inspired colours or give it a much more battle-worn appearance.

Scratches, chipped armour, dust and metallic wear all suit the industrial design language of Iron-Blooded Orphans particularly well.

Considering what happens to Mobile Suits in IBO, a completely pristine Graze Ein might actually be the less realistic option.

Display Against Gundam Barbatos

The obvious display partner for the HG Graze Ein is Gundam Barbatos.

Their confrontation is one of the major battles from the conclusion of the first season of Iron-Blooded Orphans, making the two machines a natural pairing.

The difference in proportions also makes the display visually interesting.

Graze Ein towers over many conventional 1/144 Mobile Suits, while Barbatos brings the distinctive Gundam Frame silhouette.

Put the two together and you’ve got an instant IBO battle display.

Build Your Iron-Blooded Orphans Collection

The Graze Ein HG 1/144 is an excellent addition to an Iron-Blooded Orphans collection because it offers something visually very different from the Gundam Frames.

Display it alongside Gundam Barbatos, Gundam Gusion Rebake, Graze, Schwalbe Graze and other machines from the first season to build out the conflict between Tekkadan and Gjallarhorn.

Its sheer height also helps it stand out even in a crowded 1/144 display.

You won’t struggle to find Graze Ein on the shelf.

It’ll be the enormous dark machine holding two axes.

Why Add the Graze Ein HG 1/144 to Your Collection?

The Bandai HG 1/144 EB-AX2 Graze Ein is one of the most imposing model kits from the Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans HG range.

For anyone searching for an IBO Graze Ein HG 1/144, EB-AX2 Graze Ein Gunpla, Ein Dalton model kit, Iron-Blooded Orphans HG or Gjallarhorn Mobile Suit model kit, this is a standout enemy machine from the series.

Add the Graze Ein HG 1/144 to your collection and give Tekkadan something very large, very angry and carrying far too many close-combat weapons to worry about.
