Before the Psycho-Frame is exposed and the familiar Gundam face appears, the RX-0 presents a very different silhouette – predominantly white armour, a single horn and a much more understated appearance that hides what the machine is really capable of.
Unicorn Mode
This kit recreates the RX-0 specifically in Unicorn Mode, giving builders the opportunity to display the Mobile Suit in its original closed-armour configuration.
Unlike transforming versions of the Unicorn, the HGUC releases concentrate on their individual forms, allowing the proportions and articulation to be designed around the selected configuration.
Pair it with the separately available HGUC Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode for a great before-and-after display. Bandai’s Destroy Mode HGUC was released as the 100th entry in the HGUC series in November 2009.
Classic RX-0 Equipment
The Unicorn’s clean white armour is accompanied by its familiar equipment, giving you plenty of options for creating both neutral and combat poses.
Its comparatively simple Unicorn Mode silhouette also makes this an excellent kit for builders who enjoy adding panel lining, decals, weathering or their own custom detailing.
A Distinctive Universal Century Gundam
Few Gundams change their appearance as dramatically as the RX-0.
In Unicorn Mode, the machine almost hides its Gundam identity behind the single horn and closed facial armour. Once transformed into Destroy Mode, that restrained design gives way to the exposed Psycho-Frame and familiar V-fin-equipped Gundam appearance.
Having both versions on the shelf makes the contrast particularly impressive.
