30MM eEXM-23 Tecprot 02

Bring some serious military styling to your 30 Minutes Missions collection with the 30MM eEXM-23 Tecprot 02 1/144 from Bandai Spirits.

Developed as a security-type mass-production EXAMAC for the Earth Federation Forces, the Tecprot 02 is designed for duties including military-base defence, night-time security and maintaining public order. Compared with the Tecprot 01, the 02 swaps the blue styling for a much more military-looking green colour scheme and adds a distinctive high-performance scope visor.

Earth Federation Security EXAMAC

The eEXM-23 Tecprot is a mass-produced machine developed for the Earth Federation Forces, but unlike some of the more overtly combat-focused EXAMAC designs, its role extends to security and maintaining order on Earth.

Tecprot 02 pushes that military-security theme even further.

The combination of dark green armour, scope-equipped head and enormous defensive shield makes the finished machine look like something designed to spend its nights patrolling a heavily fortified military installation.

And that’s pretty much exactly what it’s for.

Tecprot 02 vs Tecprot 01

The Tecprot 02 is a variation of the earlier eEXM-23 Tecprot 01, but there are two immediately obvious differences.

First is the colour.

Tecprot 01 uses a predominantly blue scheme, while Tecprot 02 switches to military green, giving the machine a much more conventional armed-forces appearance.

Second is the head equipment.

Tecprot 02 receives a new high-performance scope-equipped visor, designed around its specialised operational role.

Same basic Tecprot DNA.

Much more “night patrol at a military base” energy.

Scope-Type Visor

The distinctive scope visor is one of the defining features of Tecprot 02.

Bandai describes the equipment as being designed to support localised combat operations, while the machine’s background associates the enhanced scope with military-base defence and night-time security.

The visor dramatically changes the personality of the head compared with Tecprot 01 and gives the machine a more specialised reconnaissance/security appearance.

Large Shield

Tecprot 02 comes equipped with an enormous large shield.

But there’s something particularly interesting about how Bandai has produced it.

The shield’s distinctive surface pattern is reproduced as a single moulded component using new production technology, rather than relying on multiple pieces to create the effect.

It’s an excellent example of Bandai finding increasingly clever ways to add visual detail without unnecessarily increasing the parts count.

And on Tecprot 02, the oversized shield fits the security-machine aesthetic perfectly.

Grenade Launcher

For offensive equipment, Tecprot 02 carries a Grenade Launcher.

It’s a suitably chunky weapon for the heavily armoured military appearance of the machine and gives you plenty of options for creating armed patrol or combat poses.

Pair it with the shield and scope visor and the finished Tecprot looks less like a flashy ace-pilot machine and more like something designed to get a job done.

Removable Armour

One of Tecprot 02’s most interesting features is its configurable armour.

Individual armour components can be removed to recreate a lightly armoured configuration.

That effectively gives you two different approaches to the same machine.

Keep everything attached for the full security/combat configuration, or strip components away for a lighter, more utilitarian EXAMAC.

And because this is 30MM, that’s really only the beginning.

Repositionable Rear Skirt

The rear skirt armour can be repositioned and attached to the back of the machine.

This changes the silhouette while freeing up the lower body and gives builders another simple way to personalise the basic configuration.

The rear booster equipment can also contribute to a more aggressive backpack-style appearance.

Small changes like this are exactly what make 30 Minutes Missions so addictive.

Articulated Construction

Tecprot 02 incorporates movable mechanisms throughout the body, giving the completed model plenty of articulation for combat and patrol-style poses.

The internal joint structure shares engineering with established 30MM designs such as Alto and Portanova, providing a familiar foundation for anyone who has already built earlier machines from the range.

Military Green Colour Scheme

The green colour palette really suits this machine.

Compared with Tecprot 01, the darker green and green-grey components give the 02 a significantly more grounded military appearance, while fluorescent orange clear components provide a sharp contrast around the sensors.

It looks great straight from the box, but it’s also an excellent foundation for additional detailing.
