Bring the mysterious White Souhei to your model collection with the MODEROID Niki Vashmarl, based on the legendary mecha from the Japanese fantasy novel series Wares 1092.
Produced by Good Smile Company, this is the first-ever plastic model kit of Niki Vashmarl. Standing approximately 150mm tall, the finished model combines its distinctive fantasy-mecha armour with full articulation, multiple weapons, interchangeable hands, pre-painted components and water-slide decals.
The White Souhei
Niki Vashmarl comes from the long-running Japanese fantasy series Wares 1092.
Rather than following the more familiar military science-fiction styling of Gundam, Wares 1092 blends enormous mechanical warriors with a world influenced by fantasy, mythology and ancient armour.
Niki Vashmarl is known as the White Souhei, an imposing white armoured machine with a design that looks almost like an ancient warrior brought to life as a giant robot.
That makes it a particularly unusual addition to the MODEROID range.
First-Ever Niki Vashmarl Plastic Model
This release is significant for Wares 1092 collectors because Good Smile describes it as the first plastic model of Niki Vashmarl.
Rather than simply producing a static representation, Good Smile has translated the elaborate design into a fully articulated model kit.
The finished result retains the heavily armoured, almost ceremonial appearance of the original machine while providing the movement expected from a modern MODEROID release.
Approximately 150mm Tall
Once assembled, Niki Vashmarl stands approximately 150mm tall.
That’s a great size for a model with this amount of armour and weaponry.
The broad shoulders, large shield and extensive equipment give the finished model considerably more visual presence than its height measurement alone might suggest.
Fully Articulated
The joints throughout Niki Vashmarl are fully articulated, allowing the finished model to move beyond a simple standing pose.
That becomes particularly useful because Good Smile has included several very different weapons.
You can create sword-fighting stances, staff poses or simply display the White Souhei standing fully equipped.
The Holy Sword El Mute
The most important weapon included is the Holy Sword El Mute.
Good Smile has gone further than simply supplying a sword and sheath.
Separate grip components are included to represent El Mute in both its drawn and sheathed configurations, and the grip can be attached to or removed from the sheath mounted on Niki Vashmarl’s back.
It’s a small detail, but one that makes the weapon system feel considerably more complete.
Long Staff
Niki Vashmarl also comes equipped with a long staff.
This gives you a completely different style of display from the Holy Sword and works particularly well with the machine’s ancient-warrior appearance.
Combine the long weapon with a wide combat stance and the model starts looking less like a conventional robot and more like an enormous mechanical martial artist.
Three-Section Staff
The weapon selection continues with a three-section staff in its collapsed configuration.
The weapon has a dedicated holder positioned on the right shoulder, and Good Smile has designed the holder so it can actually be removed from the shoulder armour.
It’s another example of the attention paid to recreating the original design rather than simply attaching decorative accessories to the model.
Interchangeable Hands
Multiple interchangeable hand parts are included for posing the model with its different weapons.
But there’s a particularly nice detail here.
When the alternative hands aren’t being used, they can be attached to Niki Vashmarl’s waist in accordance with the original design setting.
So instead of throwing unused hands back into the box and forgetting where you put them six months later, they can actually become part of the display.
Very civilised.
Water-Slide Decals
Good Smile includes water-slide decals for reproducing the intricate decorative details found across the design.
These are particularly important around the waist sash, where the patterns contribute significantly to Niki Vashmarl’s fantasy-inspired appearance.
The official Wares product information also notes decals for the characteristic detailing on the long shield.
For experienced model builders, careful decal application followed by a suitable top coat should really bring these areas to life.
Multi-Colour Construction
Like other modern MODEROID releases, the kit is designed to look impressive without requiring a complete paint job.
Good Smile uses a combination of different coloured runners, pre-painted components and decals to reproduce the intended appearance through straightforward assembly.
That makes the kit accessible to builders who simply want to assemble it straight from the box.
But there’s plenty here for painters too.
Take the Build Further
Niki Vashmarl’s ornate armour makes it an excellent custom-painting project.
Try adding:
- Metallic details to the armour
- Dark panel lining
- Subtle shading across the white surfaces
- Weathering around the feet
- Detailed weapon finishes
- Metallic treatment for El Mute
- Hand-painted armour accents
- Carefully applied water-slide decals
- Matte or semi-gloss top coat
The fantasy styling also gives you considerably more freedom than you’d normally have with a conventional military-style mecha.
You could keep it pristine and ceremonial or make it look like an ancient armoured warrior that’s been through years of battle.
A Very Different Kind of Mecha
One of the biggest strengths of Good Smile’s MODEROID range is its willingness to explore machines outside the usual handful of massive robot franchises.
Niki Vashmarl is a perfect example.
Its armour doesn’t really resemble Gundam.
It doesn’t look like Macross.
It doesn’t look like Evangelion.
Instead, the combination of enormous shoulder armour, white body, decorative elements, swords and staff weapons gives it its own identity.
Put this alongside a shelf full of conventional robots and it’s immediately going to stand out.

Why Add MODEROID Niki Vashmarl to Your Collection?
Because MODEROID Niki Vashmarl offers something genuinely different.
This isn’t another variation on the familiar Gundam-style humanoid robot. Niki Vashmarl looks like an enormous ancient warrior translated into mechanical form, combining elaborate white armour with swords, staffs and decorative markings.
There’s also a surprising amount packed into the kit.
The Holy Sword El Mute, long staff, three-section staff, removable weapon holder, interchangeable hands and water-slide markings provide plenty to work with, while the approximately 150mm articulated body gives you numerous display possibilities.
It’s also the first time Niki Vashmarl has been produced as a plastic model kit, making this a particularly significant release for fans of Wares 1092.
For MODEROID collectors, fantasy-mecha fans or model builders searching for something far removed from the usual Gundam designs, Niki Vashmarl is exactly the sort of unusual release that makes Good Smile’s MODEROID range worth watching.
White armour. Ancient styling. The Holy Sword El Mute at the ready. MODEROID Niki Vashmarl brings the White Souhei of Wares 1092 into plastic-model form for the very first time.
