Representing the Zaku I used by the legendary Black Tri-Stars, this 1/144 scale HGUC kit recreates the Mobile Suit in the team’s distinctive dark colour scheme and comes loaded with weapon options. Bandai released the kit in August 2006 as part of the HGUC range.

The Black Tri-Stars

Before their famous Dom units, Gaia, Mash and Ortega made their name as the Black Tri-Stars during the Battle of Loum.

Bandai’s Black Tri-Stars Zaku I recreates the dark team colour scheme using moulded plastic and includes dedicated Black Tri-Stars marking stickers to complete the appearance.

Improved HGUC Articulation

Despite the Zaku I’s deliberately old-school Mobile Suit design, the kit includes some useful articulation.

The waist can rotate, while the upper body can lean forwards to recreate the Zaku I’s distinctive shoulder tackle. Bandai also incorporated newly designed double-jointed elbows to increase the range of movement in the arms.

Plenty of Weapons

The Black Tri-Stars Zaku I comes with an impressive selection of Zeon weaponry.

Included are a Zaku Bazooka, 105mm Zaku Machine Gun, Heat Hawk, Sturm Faust and Knuckle Shield. A dedicated shoulder-mounted bazooka rack is also supplied, giving you plenty of options when configuring the finished model.

Classic Early Zeon Design

The MS-05B has a noticeably simpler appearance than the later Zaku II, making it a great addition to any collection focused on the development of Zeon’s early Mobile Suits.

Place it alongside a standard Zaku I, Zaku II or the Black Tri-Stars’ later machines and you’ve got a great way of showing the evolution of Zeon’s most recognisable designs.
