MISSION COMPLETE! Samus Aran suits up in one of the most iconic figma releases from the Metroid series.
Based on her appearance in Nintendo’s METROID Other M, the figma Samus Aran recreates the legendary bounty hunter in her unmistakable Power Suit, complete with her Arm Cannon, Morph Ball, beam effects and missile-firing equipment.
Originally released in 2012 and subsequently rereleased several times, Max Factory and Good Smile Company – figma Samus Aran brought the figure back once again in January 2026, giving Metroid collectors another opportunity to pick up this classic figma.
Samus Aran
Few video-game characters are as instantly recognisable as Samus Aran.
The protagonist of Nintendo’s Metroid series is an intergalactic bounty hunter known for exploring hostile alien worlds, battling Space Pirates and taking on some seriously unpleasant creatures.
And then there’s the armour.
Samus’ Power Suit has become one of gaming’s most recognisable designs, combining heavy sci-fi armour with her enormous integrated Arm Cannon and distinctive helmet.
The Other M interpretation gives that classic design a particularly clean and streamlined appearance, making it an excellent choice for the figma treatment.
Based on METROID Other M
This version of Samus is specifically based on her appearance in METROID Other M, originally released for Nintendo Wii in 2010.
The game combined the traditional exploration and shooting elements of Metroid with a much more cinematic presentation of Samus and her story.
That streamlined visual interpretation of the Power Suit forms the basis of this figure.
Approximately 150mm Tall
Samus stands approximately 150mm tall, making her a substantial figma without becoming overly large.
At around 15cm, there’s enough size for the sculpted armour and paint details to stand out while keeping her compatible with the general scale of the wider figma collection.
And unlike some Samus statues, you can actually pose this one.
Classic Power Suit
The star of the figure is naturally Samus’ Power Suit.
The familiar orange and red armour is recreated across the body, complete with the green visor and mechanical detailing that immediately identifies the character.
Max Factory also uses flexible plastic in selected areas, helping maintain the proportions of the armour without unnecessarily restricting articulation.
That balance is particularly important for Samus.
She needs to look heavily armoured.
But she also needs to move.
Smooth figma Articulation
The figma joint system allows Samus to recreate a wide variety of poses from the game.
You can create:
- Arm Cannon firing poses
- Running poses
- Combat stances
- Missile attacks
- Exploration poses
- Classic victory poses
The supplied articulated figma stand provides additional support for more dynamic displays.
Arm Cannon
You can’t have Samus without the Arm Cannon.
Integrated into her right arm, the cannon is one of the most recognisable weapons in video-game history.
The figma includes effect components that transform the standard Arm Cannon into something considerably more dramatic.
Point it forward, add an effect and Samus is ready to clear whatever unfortunate creature happens to be occupying the other side of your shelf.
Two Beam Effects
Good Smile includes two different beam effect parts for Samus’ Arm Cannon.
These give you considerably more visual impact than simply displaying the cannon by itself.
The translucent effects work particularly well when combined with an aggressive firing pose and the included stand.
Missile-Firing Effect
Samus isn’t restricted to beams.
A dedicated component is included for recreating her missile-firing configuration.
Swap the required component onto the Arm Cannon and you’ve got another instantly recognisable Metroid weapon display.
It also means you can regularly change the figure’s appearance without needing a completely different version of Samus.
Morph Ball Included
Of course, there’s a Morph Ball.
It would hardly be Samus without one.
The iconic spherical form is included as a separate accessory, allowing you to display Samus alongside one of the Metroid series’ most famous abilities.
It’s a simple accessory, but an essential one.
After all, an enormous armoured bounty hunter turning herself into a ball to crawl through tiny tunnels has been part of Metroid since the beginning.
Best not to question the physics.
Five Interchangeable Left Hands
Five alternative left-hand components are included.
These include different options for action and relaxed poses, including:
Open hand
Gripping hand
and, most importantly…
The classic Samus thumbs-up.
The different hands provide plenty of variety when posing the figure, particularly because the Arm Cannon naturally dominates the right side.
The Samus Thumbs-Up
It’s a small accessory that gives the figure a surprising amount of personality.
The thumbs-up hand allows you to recreate Samus’ familiar gesture and provides a more relaxed display option alongside all the weapon-firing poses.
Mission complete.
Ridley defeated.
Planet probably exploded.
👍
Display Her with Zero Suit Samus
There’s an obvious companion figure.
figma Samus Aran: Zero Suit Ver.
Max Factory has also produced Samus without the Power Suit based on METROID Other M, complete with her handgun, Adam’s helmet, alternative expressions and an interchangeable short-haired head representing a younger Samus. The Zero Suit version was most recently rereleased in February 2026.
Display the two together and you’ve got both of Samus’ most recognisable appearances from the game.
A Classic figma Returns
This particular Samus has been around for quite some time.
The original release dates back to June 2012, and the figure subsequently received multiple rereleases due to its continued popularity. Good Smile’s latest version shipped in January 2026.
That longevity says quite a lot about the figure.
Rather than replacing it with an entirely new Other M Samus, Max Factory has continued bringing the original design back for new collectors.
Pre-Painted and Ready for Action
Unlike a model kit, figma Samus arrives as a painted articulated figure.
There’s no:
- Cutting from runners
- Painting
- Glue
- Panel lining
- Decal application
- Model-kit assembly
Get her out of the box, select your accessories and start posing.
Ideal if your Gunpla backlog is already threatening to develop its own ecosystem.

Why Add figma Samus Aran to Your Collection?
Because this is classic Samus.
Power Suit.
Arm Cannon.
Morph Ball.
Missiles.
And enough articulation to actually recreate the action poses that make the character so memorable.
The accessory selection is particularly good. The two beam effects and missile component allow you to change the appearance of the Arm Cannon, while the Morph Ball gives you another iconic piece of Metroid history to display alongside her. Add the interchangeable hands and articulated stand and there’s plenty of posing potential despite the bulky armour.
The January 2026 rerelease also means collectors have another chance to pick up a figma whose original release dates all the way back to 2012.
Pair her with Zero Suit Samus, or let the Power Suit version take centre stage in your Nintendo collection.
Power Suit equipped. Arm Cannon charged. Morph Ball ready. figma Samus Aran brings one of gaming’s greatest bounty hunters off the screen and onto your shelf.
